About the Play

Set in the Lower East Side of New York City in 1993, two Hispanic teenage sisters struggle to understand each other and their family situation. More and more, they become estranged until it's discovered that one of them has AIDS.               History

"Memories of What Could Have Been" was picked up by Periwinkle National Theatre for Young Audiences in 1995, but due to limited funding, the development process of the play had to end. It was later chosen and performed by high school students in the South Bronx as a workshop project at The Point's Live from the Edge Theatre in 2000.

On February 10, 2023, a staged reading was presented by Mixing It Up Productions at the TheatreLab in New York City.
